Lifted 2019 Nissan Titan Pro4x Overland Build for 4×4 Expeditions

The Titan, the biggest truck in the brand’s model lineup, has always been an attractive option for fans of overlanding and off-road expeditions because it does everything that Nissan is good at in a big way. This ranges from interior ergonomics and build quality to design and durability. Plus, it’s one of the brands that manages to keep its vehicle prices at an adequate level, without offering a bare minimum feature set or overcharging for things that don’t even belong on a truck.

Being a fan of overland-style adventures, the owner of this white 2019 Nissan Titan needed something more than a work truck to support his desire to explore and see the world around him. That’s why his choice fell on the Pro4x version of the Titan, equipped with a rear locking differential and a set of other features that make it off-road capable, comfortable, and spacious enough to haul all the overland gear for multi-day expeditions.

Even though Nissan did a great job fitting the Pro4x model with everything an average driver may need to go off-roading, there is still a lot of room for improvement for those who want to prepare these trucks for more challenging conditions. And that’s why the modification process has begun for this big white truck.

Off-road Mods

Improving the ground clearance, along with the approach / departure angles, and the wheel traction are the fundamental principles of off-road modifications that usually require the installation of a lift kit and dedicated off road tires. These are the aspects the owner of this Nissan Titan decided to take care on the first place.

Suspension

Up front, the owner decided to go with the high-performance Radflo 6″ Coilovers with remote reservoirs that would provide the necessary lift and improve wheel travel. To maintain proper suspension geometry and articulation, he added DK Ball Joint Upper Control Arms with Caps, CJD Lower Control Arms, and Fullheim Steering Tie Rods that work in conjunction as one solid mechanism.

The rear setup was organized a little differently, featuring Radflo 5″ Shocks with remote reservoirs, Rough Country 6″ Brackets, and a Kicker Bar Kit for increased stability. It was further reinforced with HD SumoSprings, a Roadmaster Active Suspension HD system, and a Hellwig Sway Bar paired with CJD Extended sway bar links. This combination of high-performance components significantly improved the suspension articulation front and back and provided the space to install oversized off-road tires with a more aggressive tread pattern.

Wheels & Tires

35-inch tires are some sort of a golden standard for any lifted full-size truck. They are big enough to improve the clearance and breakover angle, which is a must for any truck that gets off-road use, and this Titan was no exception. The owner decided to install a set of tried and tested 35×12.5 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires with a Load Range F, wrapped around striking 18×9 Fuel Off-Road Zephyr rims with -12 offset. To polish out the fitment and widen the track, he also installed a set of Z1 Off-Road 1″ Bolt-On Wheel Spacers and EGR Extended Fender Flares.

Body armor

Protecting the body of a truck from the rigors of the trails is also a must in terms of the off-road preparation. That’s why the owner has installed a set of HammerHead Armor front and rear bumpers.

Recovery

The front bumper has an integrated winch platform which allowed the installation of a Warn Xeon 12-S winch, a must for solo trips out in the wild. MAXTRAX MKII Recovery Boards were mounted on the bed rack to assist with self-recovery. Another vital enhancement for off-road recovery was the installation of a RigD Supply Ultra Swing Mega Fit Tire Carrier. This ensures a spare tire is readily available in case of a flat in remote areas.

Ovelrand Gear and upgrades

After the truck had gone through complete off-road preparation, it was finally time to load it up with overland gear to support multi-day adventures off-grid.

Among the numerous overland accessories are: ROAM Adventure Co. 83L Rugged Case, WaterPort 8.0 Gallon Water Tank, Decked Drawer System, GearPOD, GOFSR Aspen Lite Rooftop Tent, and many other items (see the full parts list below).

To enhance visibility on the trails during nighttime driving and light up the campsite, the truck was equipped with various LED light upgrades mounted on all four corners.

Exterior & Styling

To spice up the looks of the truck and improve its visual appeal, the owner installed a set of striking Morimoto XB LED headlights and added a couple of subtle touches that are not easy to spot for the non-Titan crowd, such as the blacked-out midnight edition badges on the front and back.

Performance

Even though it’s a dedicated overland truck build, which doesn’t imply any performance modifications, the owner decided to add a couple of items to improve its performance and sound, such as the Z1 Off-Road Cold Air Intake paired with a Z1 Off-Road Exhaust with Black Rolled Tips. A Power Stop Z36 Truck and Tow Brake Upgrade Kit was added to ensure proper brake performance with all the added gear.
