D41 Nissan Frontier Pro4X off road build With Coastal Offroad Front bumper
D41 Nissan Frontier Pro4X has been a solid choice for enthusiasts seeking an off-road capable mid-size truck equipped with all necessary 4×4 tech, but doesn’t cost and arm and a leg. While often overshadowed by its more popular competitors, the Frontier’s Pro4X package offers the rear locker and a slew of other cool features that make it an excellent base for building a functional off road rig straight from the box.
Today, we’re featuring a tastefully modified D41 Nissan Frontier Pro4X off-road build that perfectly balances form and function. This clean, purpose-driven truck comes from a builder with a good eye for tasteful modifications Esteban @imthefoo, who’s lifted Porsche Cayenne and Lexus GX470 builds we’ve showcased on Offroadium in the past. Staying true to the owner’s style, this Frontier build focuses on thoughtfully chosen mods & upgrades that boost the truck’s off-road performance, avoiding unnecessary Instagram-worthy accessories. From its Coastal Offroad front bumper to its well-thought-out suspension setup, every modification serves a clear purpose.

Suspension
From someone who’s put together numerous off-road projects in the past, you can expect nothing but well-chosen, functional parts for this D41. Instead of opting for a simple spacer lift that would retain the factory suspension components, the owner decided to install a fully functional suspension lift. This consists of a 2 3/4″ Koni 82 lift kit with All Dogs Offroad Coop Upper Control Arms to improve suspension articulation, wheel travel and ground clearance to go beyound 9.5″ offered in the stock form.
This kit has significantly improved the ground clearance and freed up space in the wheel wells for the installation of oversized wheels and tires.
Wheels & Tires
The wheel choice fell on a set of classy-looking 17 x 8 Black Rhino Aliso custom wheels with zero offset in a silver finish, providing a cool contrasting accent to the black truck.
The wheels are wrapped in 295/70/17 Maxxis Razr AT Tires that measure 33 inches in overall diameter, quite an improvement compared to the stock 265/65/17 tires that are only 30 inches.
This wheel setup improves traction on slippery terrain, and allows the owner to air down in low traction situations.
Exterior
One of the first things you notice on the exterior of this truck is the silver aluminum off-road bumper from Coastal Offroad, which improves the approach angle and allows clearance for the larger tires.
Up on top of the truck, you can see a sharp-looking Prinsu roof rack with Vivid Lumen LED FNG5, FNG3, and Wired series lightbar.
On the back, there’s an Xtrusionoverland XTR1 Softopper Bedrack with a relatively lightweight Inspired Overland Rooftop Tent mounted on top of it, perfect for comfortable nights out during multi-day off-road trips.
