Audi Allroad Quattro Off Road Build with All-Terrain Tires
Out of all practical and utilitarian station wagons, the Avants by Audi have always stood out as some of the sexiest representatives of this body style. Beyond their elegant proportions and eye-pleasing curves, one other feature makes them stand out from the crowd: Quattro all-wheel-drive. Along with perfectly tuned handling and highly effective engines, it’s responsible for providing impressive performance results both on and off the pavement, be it a track-oriented RS4 or an all-terrain Allroad Quattro.
Our feature today is dedicated to an awesome-looking Audi Allroad Quattro (based on the A4 B8 platform) outfitted for ultimate driving fun off the paved roads. Unlike many Allroad owners, this car’s owner doesn’t mind taking it off-road and getting it dirty to take full advantage of its legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive for outdoor adventures.

ToggleThe Off-road Build
This isn’t the first off-road-dedicated Allroad build we’ve featured on Offroadium. A couple of years ago, we published an article dedicated to Gene Pascua’s A4 B8 overland build, which only proves that these vehicles can do much more than deliver you from point A to point B in bad weather, especially when equipped with proper off-road upgrades.
Legenday Quattro all wheel drive proactively directs power between axles when needed – offering additional grip before it’s needed and efficiency when it’s not.

Wheels
Wheels and tires are hands-down one of the most important aspects of any off-road build, which is why this Allroad’s owner decided to address them first. The factory wheels were replaced with a set of rugged-looking Fifteen52 Traverse MX rims in a smaller 17″ size. This allows for installing bigger tires with taller profiles and the ability to air down to improve traction on sand or mud.
The stock 245/45/18 (26.7″) road tires were replaced with 225/65/17 (28.5″) Toyo Open Country AT3 All-Terrain tires that have an almost 2″ larger overall wheel diameter, significantly improving the Allroad’s traction and ground clearance.
According to the owner, this wheel combo didn’t cause any major rubbing issues and didn’t require a lift, which is quite surprising for a vehicle like this, so he kept the suspension stock. Minor trimming was done on the left front and right front underbody panels forward of the rear wheel wells.
However, larger tires and more intense off-road usage do put more stress on the suspension and driveline components, so it was decided to install a JXBperformance Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Carrier to optimize handling and reliability.
Exterior
When it comes to adventure vehicles that need to carry more gear for their owners, this Allroad boasts a stylish low-profile Front Runner Outfitters Roof Rack on top with a pair of all-weather storage cases and an LED light bar, which adds extra points to the overall off-road look of the car.
Up on the grille sits a set of four round 7.0″ SuperVision ‘NEXUS’ 60W driving lights that illuminate the trail roads and pay homage to the old-school Quattro Rally models of the 80s.
