Lifted Nissan Patrol Y60 – Ultimate Overland Machine
What do we know about the 4×4 culture in Australia? Off-roading and overland adventures are very popular there just as much as they are here in the USA, but there’s one thing that is really different – the cars. Australian domestic market offers a lot of 4×4 vehicles with remarkable off-road capabilities that are not available on the American market and one of such models is the Nissan Patrol Y60, which remains a common platform for various off-road projects during the last few decades.
Nissan Patrol is a rugged off-roader with a reliable 4×4 system, spacious interior and powerful engine, that can take you just about anywhere whether it’s sand dunes, muddy forest trail or a rocky mountain path. We’ve got in touch with Chris from New South Wales, Australia and asked to tell us a couple of words about his awesome lifted Nissan Patrol.
This white lifted Nissan Patrol is powered by a six-cylinder 4.2L turbo-diesel engine. Proper performance is ensured by Garrett 3076 turbo set at 36psi. Among other performance improvements are 3.5-inch stainless exhaust, 12mm fuel pump, injectors, custom manifolds, front mount intercooler and other mods.
Suspension modifications are represented by a 5-inch suspension lift with adjustable King racing shocks.
What really makes this lifted Nissan Patrol look that great are 16×8 steel off-road rims with -22 offset wrapped with 315/75r16 Maxxis Bighorn tires.
Functional exterior mods feature steel bumpers, wide fender flares, off-road lights, spare tire carrier, overland roof basket and many other items.
As any other overland spec vehicle, this Nissan Patrol has plenty of little things that ease the life of their owners while they’re on the trip: custom switches, custom water tank behind the seats, custom drawer setup, fridge, tv, arb compressor and many other things.

The truck looks freaking awesome! I like it even more than old school Land Cruisers!
Nissan Patrol has got a huge following on the middle east. It’s probably the most important market for this model. It’s big, powerful and does just great on the sand.
I’ve also seen a lot of insane performance modifications, with custom twin-turbo kits that make Patrol give out up to 1000hp.
Even though they were not officially sold in the USA, Patrols pop-up on classified from time to time, perhaps thy were brought to the US through Canada, If I am not mistaken this body style goes for 5-10k depending on the condition. Knowing how diverse the automotive culture in Cali, I am sure there are Patrol owner clubs there.
There models with RB26DETT turbo engines from Skyline GT-R, I would definitely choose Patrol over the Skyline with that much power.
