CLASSIC FULL-SIZE OBS NEW 2021+ BRONCO II

Ford’s biggest and most capable SUV, produced since 1966, continues to attract off-road enthusiasts in America. Classic Bronco (1965-1977)

Born in the golden era of the American automotive industry, the first-generation Bronco, also known as the classic Bronco, is one of the most iconic vintage 4x4s. Its simple, unmistakable design with two round headlights, two removable doors, and an open top captivates the minds of car enthusiasts to this day. So it’s not surprising that the 2021 6th generation was designed based on its styling cues. The majority of classic Bronco off-road builds feature ground-up restoration with complete engine and transmission rebuilds and swaps to make them drivable by modern-day standards.

Full-Size Bronco (1978-1991)

Usually be referring to Full size Broncos we understand the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen models. In the late 70s, while working on the second generation of the model, Ford engineers decided to leave the original utilitarian 4×4 concept in the past and unify the 2nd gen Bronco with the more advanced F-Series trucks. The design and performance of the newly created SUV became so successful that it influenced the next 3 generations of this model, which remained in production with minor modifications until 1996.

Bronco II (1983-1988)

The fuel crisis of the late 70s hit hard on Ford’s full-size truck offering. That’s why their team of marketing specialists decided to develop a whole new compact and efficient SUV with lower fuel consumption. And that’s how the Bronco II was born. Except for the name, it didn’t have anything in common with the iconic 4×4, but it was enough to make it sell well in the competitive market niche dominated by the Chevy S-10 Blazer and Jeep Cherokee. Today, this model is often overlooked by off-road enthusiasts, but the builds shown on this page prove that it still has potential.

OBS Bronco (1992-1996)

The fifth-generation Ford Bronco, also known as OBS (Old Body Style, produced from 1992 to 1996), is another significant model in Ford’s lineup of 4×4 SUVs. Thanks to its 4×4 drivetrain, powerful V8 engines, and tough chassis, it became a favorite among desert racing fans. In our archive, you will find many OBS Bronco prerunners built to race specifications and fitted with long-travel suspensions.

2021+ 6th gen Bronco (New)

In 2021, after a 25-year break, the Bronco nameplate finally returned to the brand’s lineup. Despite numerous expectations, it was no longer based on the full-size truck platform. Since the company’s goal was to compete in the dedicated 4×4 market segment with the Jeep Wrangler, the engineers decided to go back to the roots and build the new model based on the design concept of the original 1st gen Bronco.

The result turned out to be so successful that it immediately became the best seller in its segment. Thanks to strong aftermarket support, you can now build a trail-worthy rig even from the base model Bronco, be it a weekend off-roader or an overland expedition vehicle.
